Game Enhancer Instructions
To use the Game Enhancer, Plug it into the back of your Playstation (the Parallel I/O slot, must remove plastic cover).
PlayStation Models: 100x-750x have the Parallel I/O Port.
PlayStation Models: 900x & the Psone (10x) have no Parallel I/O Port, so the Game-Enhancer cannot be used.
The Enhancer is on when the switch on the side is up.
When the Enhancer is turned on, the Main Menu will appear on the TV screen as soon as you press power on the Playstation. (The only way to play a Back-up or Import is to have the switch UP)
The following is the list of items available in the Main Menu:

MEMORY CARD MANAGER – This is a typically memory card manager. The functions are obvious so I won’t our waste time detailing the instructions here.
GRAPHIC VIEWER – This function allows you to see the last graphic that was displayed on your TV when the reset button was pushed.

.STR files contain movies, and also audio files. After hitting "0" on a .STR file, you will get to choose to play movies or audio files.
If you can’t find any movies on the first menu, they may be in a directory. Just hit "0" on a directory to open it. Sometimes all of the movies are contained in a directory simply called "Movies"
Now, for the important stuff:
Playing Imports and Backup Games:
The first thing you must do to play import and backup games is to "trick" your Playstation into thinking that the door is always open. There are several ways to do this. You can shove a toothpick or paperclip in the door button to make it stick down. Some people take their Playstation apart and tape down the button. Others just hold the button down with their finger. However, the suggested way of doing this is to buy a cheap spring that will fit on the knob that hits the door button. Make sure the spring is not too stiff so that you can easily open and close the door so that the spring does not shoot out. If you have a decent spring, you should never have to deal with it again.
Instructions:
1. Insert Original Playstation CD (not a Import) in the Playstation system and hit power to turn on the Playstation.
2. If the Enhancer is plugged in and turned on, the Enhancer will stop the original game from spinning in about one second.
3. Replace the original game with the backup or import game.
4. Start the game by hitting "O" on your control pad when "game start" is selected on the Enhancer main menu.
How to play games that are more than 1 Disc!
There are two ways to play multi-disc import or backup games with the Enhancer. The first way is to save the data at the end of the first disc to a memory card. Then load up the data on the second disc.
However, you can only do this if that is how the game was programmed.
Some games do not do this so you have to do a switch. First, remove the import of backup disc 1 and insert your original game. Remove the Spring, or whatever you have blocking the Lid button, then put it back in, (this makes your PSX think the Lid has been opened and the previous Disc removed).
Press the button the game asks for to tell it that the next disc has been put-in, allow the Orignal disc to spin for about 2 seconds, then remove the spinning disc and replace it with the import or backup.
(To prevent wear & tear on your PSX's laser, try flicking the disc out with the tip of your fingernail & replacing the Import/back-up quickly)
The second disc should boot up. If you don’t get it the first time, keep trying.
Games that have more than 1 Track. (Music after the game Data) IMPORTANT FOR BEST GAME-PLAY!!
You’ve seen this problem before if you own a Enhancer to play Imports & Back-ups.
The music on a Game plays fine with a Mod-Chip, but the music isn't in the right place when a Enhancer is used..
It plays the song really fast, starts in the middle of a track then switches to another Track.
Or the Music doesn't play at all.
The game may stick when a song is to be played at that exact spot, or at loading scenes where a song is played afterwards. This sometimes "freezes" the game forcing you to re-boot, or pauses it for a few seconds, then resumes as normal.
This happens because a Enhancer not only tells your PSX the game is real. It also maps out how many tracks the game contains. So if you boot it with a Game that only has 1 Track, the Game will play like it only has 1 track.
Making it sort of "Trip-out" when it searches for Tracks, and the Enhancer tells the game there is only 1.
When about to play a Import, or Back-up. See how many Tracks it holds by putting it into your CD Player.
Or take the Enhancer out of your PSX. Then boot the PSX to the Blue Menu Screen.
Select "CD PLAYER" then Put the game inside. Close the lid of your PSX after this.
You should see a Track layout as if it was a Music CD.
If the game has only 1 Track, then don't worry. The music is embedded into the Data Track.
Just about any real PSX CD will boot it fine .
However if you see multiple Tracks then things could get Tricky.
The 1st Track is always the Game Data.
You will not hear anything if you try and play this track. Most times your CD Player will automatically go to Track 2. The tracks after the 1st are always Music.
If the Import or Back-up you are trying to play has Music after the Data, then you must use a Multi Track Disc to Boot it.
Preferably a Disc that has the same amount of Tracks or More.
If you had say…a back-up of Twisted Metal 2, it would be the best if you had Twisted Metal 1 or 3, for boot-up. And Vise Versa.
Or a Game made by the same company, because they usually have the same Track layout.
Some games if they are on CDR, have Trouble playing with Enhancers.
Knockout Kings 2000, has reportedly been known to show #'s all over the screen, and wont boot.
This is not a Copy Protection or a Anti-Enhancer protection.
This is a Fluke in the game that only occurs with a Game-Enhancer, not a Mod-Chip.
To get past it you must own a Original EA Sports game, and use it to boot the disc.
But I have heard Tomb Raider 3, and some other games will boot it fine.
Demo discs are usually good.
But nothing will play a CDR Back-up as well as the Original Game. (which you should own).
